To be honest, for mobile I'd have taken Diablo 3. It would actually make sense for it to be a dumbed down ARPG on a touchscreen.
Maybe if it had started out that way, yeah. But the fact people look back on diablo 3 as some kind of amazing pc game is hilarious to me. I played it on console years ago and thought it was shallow even by those standards.

Champions of Norrath, X-Men Legends 2 and Baldur's Gay: Dark Alliance were all ps2 games. All better than D3.

I did see a video by Josh Strife where he explained the difference between legendary crest and ETERNAL legendary crest (subtle but important), but what was actually the third kind of legendary crest?
Anyone really playing, and paying for the "game" better pay some real close attention to the fine print.
Also I don't agree that roulette is the worst for casino gambling, I hate slots way more and do not even play them. Those might be closest to loot box shit.

Pachinkoshit is basically the grand-daddy of loot box mobile garbage. I don't know how pachinko works because my eyes are round, but it looks like a variation on slots.

I said roulette to be the worst traditional casino game. I don't even consider slots a proper game. Especially not today, because the pay-out rates are electronically fixed.
But both and pachinko as well only pretend that there's skill involved. There isn't.

Pachinko is also noisy on top, making it even worse.

Pachinko seems like bright lights and bing bing wahoo noises to make fapanese businessmen zone out and not realize they just fed their entire paycheck into the machine. From my perspective, it's as predatory as the mobile gaming industry it helped spawn.

My favorite game of chance is blackjack. I'm not smart enough to learn mahjong and poker has too many variations for me (stud and draw are both fine.) Anybody can learn blackjack in under a minute, but winning requires that combination of luck and strategy. Matches are also short, which I think is essential.

Mahjong is crazy complicated. People who think Magic is obtuse should check out a few rounds of Riichi Mahjong. It makes Poker look like Uno.

Don't forget the quality animu sequences. Even the 3D ones are way better than anything you can find in proper animu.

Modern slots incorporated that shit too.
I remember those old Asa videos of him wasting paypigs' money on them.

Mahjong is crazy complicated.
The rules themselves aren't, just remembering all the combinations that score points is.
I learned the game enough to beat the minigames in Yakuza, and then i forgot all about it.

Did it have the full game rules? I find the whole stuff about stealing tiles alone makes it more complicated than poker. You have to be super aware of everything.

I only know Riichi Mahjong and I'm already out trying to memorize all the different victory conditions which are necessary to turn a "winning hand" into an actual win.
The tile stealing is definitely another thing, I didn't even try to figure that shit out. You can only steal certain ones from specific discard piles depending on what's on your hand.
