Halo and RARE are testament to that. Reminder that Bill Gates only bought RARE because they thought Donkey Kong was their IP.

That's not a rumour and Bill Gates personally wouldn't be that dumb. What one of the ex-Rare people said (it was either Chris Seavor or Grant Kirkhope) was that, when Microsoft closed the deal, they sent some of their execs to tour the Rare offices. Rare had 'just' finished DK64, so there were a lot of Donkey Kong posters about. One of the execs saw this and said 'Really? Donkey Kong? We own Donkey Kong?'
Bill Gates is a seasoned investor who does his due diligence before he buys up shit, and probably wouldn't be dumb enough to think he was buying Donkey Kong when he wasn't. His cronies who work for him at Microsoft on the other hand....

The point in buying Rare was to take it away from Nintendo, because the vast majority of N64 games were made either by Nintendo themselves or by Rare. Microshit also wanted Nintendo's kid friendly market and Rare knew how to develop those games.

It explains why Dinosaur Planet became Star Fox Adventures when it moved development to the GameCube. One less IP for Microsoft. Also explains why Micro$hit turned RARE into a Kinect shovelware mill when Nintendo was enjoyed it greatest success selling casual gaming crap during the Wii era.

It was actually turned into a Star Fox game before it moved to Gamecube. But yeah, Nintendo put a lot of money into it and didn't want Microsoft to port it.

Most of that had to do with how The M-Rated Halo's Master Chief became their what was then their unofficial mascot at the time and even though the kid-Freindly platformer was at it's most saturated (Something Rare themselves parody and argueble even satirized in Conker's Bad Fur Day) Microcock still wanted something more cute and universal to market their brand

Hence why they brought in the Hack Frauds responsible for the unholy Autism that Sanic the Heagheag to create their own OC fanfic hence Blinx the Time Sweaper. Granted dispite the game itself being mediocre (As well as being ugly as sin might i add) the game made a break through with it being the first "4D" game ever made meaning it was the first time a game could Literally rewind itself to a certain point then continue to play (a Mechanic that was fully realized and much better used in Prince of Persia Sands of time) unfortunately like I said the two games and nothing going for them outside of their own novelty and Microsoft Quickly droped it all together witch was honesty just for the better since the medium itself by the 360-Era the whole medium dropped what was now considered childish and went full steam ahead with 'Dude-Bro-Shooters'

Of course he is. He's tired of sucking so many cocks at once and wishes there was only one cock he had to suck

The Irony is that A Monopoly would be better then what we have currently. Don't get me wrong, it would still fucking suck but at least everything would be at one place

You kidding me? A monopoly would be far worse because there'd be no chance of anything getting better. Look at Disney and all their shit. At least when all the Marvel shit was at different studios you had a chance of getting some decent movies and TV shows made out of them (Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, Blade and Blade II, X-Men and X-Men 2). Soon as Disney bought Marvel and Disney bought all the movie rights back they all became the same bland formulaic mass of shit.

The game industry would be exactly the same way when it's under one corporation with one corporate vision, especially one like Microshit who don't know fuck about making video games.

You can't compare games with movies. You need far less people and publishing is way easier.

If you insist on Hollywood, compare it to "triple A" publishers. Both are already almost entirely garbage or played out as hell.
MS buying Ubisoft would have zero negative consequences.

Then compare it to any product or service where one company has a monopoly on the entire market. You don't get good product, you don't get good service, the company doesn't have to offer you any of those things because they know damn well there's nobody else to compete with them.

Why are you quibbling here?
