Classic Kickstarter amateur mistake. It's fine and dandy to promise cool physical rewards and shit, but if you don't have an existing logistics chain this shit is almost guaranteed to be way more complicated than you think.

I think he also got flak from the LGBTs because the only trans people in the setting are "two-spirited", which is obviously for Native players only (because lesser people can't possibly understand the fine nuances of the concept).

I mean, just take this from page 12:

Please avoid the following:

• Assigning your chater the heritage of a real world tribe or First Nation.
• Assigning your Character a Two-Spirit identity.
• Using any words taken from Indigenous languages that aren't used as proper nouns in the game materials or listed as being part of Chahi [aka some made-up lingo for the game].

Why We Fight - Direct Action: Visuals

A solo+ narrative roleplaying game about fighting fascism, and learning about each other along the way.

I find it kinda ironic that an RPG about the power of nakamas is designed with solo play in mind.

Anyhow, I've decided to tackle this preview PDF thing in thematic chunks. First, some art:

I've also noticed that these "iconic" characters are a team of five, even though every player is supposed to make four characters. Fuck if I know what's going on here.
All the characters shown in the PDF are also distinctly able-bodied. The full book better give me some wheelchair archers

I couldn't help but try to track down what all of these SJW badged and pins mean, so enjoy:

• Black Chick's heart pin outs her as being "genderqueer". Even I am not autistic enough to understand WTF that is, but rest assured that she is special.
• Ambiguous Brown Chick is "bisexual", aka desperately trying to not come across as cis straight.
• Fat Asian Dude's white pin with red text apparently reads "Make Racists Afraid Again", which is a real thing and I guess supposed to be a counter-movement to MAGA. Unfortunately no one has told these guys that you need a catchy acronym
• I have no fucking idea if the colored arm bands mean anything.

But wait, there's more:

• Fat Asian Dude (at least I think it's him; doesn't look quite as wide from behind) is a straight trans ally, aka he's the most cis straight of the lot.
• Ambiguous Brown Chick has a generic Current Year Pride Flag (which doesn't have to mean much of anything) as well as... a pin of the Iron Front? What the.... ?

So the real important part of the Community Alliance logo is not the stylized CA logo they've stolen from Creative Assembly, but the handprint. Because unity and people and shit. So deep.
Sadly, this preview PDF does not further elaborate on the "Equilibrium Pledge". Probably just some SJW oath.

I have stronger opinions on the dandelion shit:

It is a hardy, edible wildflower which can take root anywhere, thriving where few plants might otherwise survive.

I'm sure it'll make for a fine salad, but you should probably focus on wheat and potatoes if you want to actually survive.

They help natural ecosystems to flourish, assisting pollinators, drawing out soil pollutants, and loosening the soil. They also have numerous medicinal benefits for people!

They're also an invasive species that is actively harmful to certain plants and crops.

To those who seek to force order and monoculture upon their domain, it is a weed, to be uprooted and destroyed.

Why We Fight is a tabletop roleplaying game that focuses on fighting back against those who prey on people without power. It focuses on themes that many criticise as “utopian”, yet in the same breath suggest that standing together to protect victims of oppression and abuse, with force if necessary, is “immoral”.

Why We Fight intends to provide a game where people get to experience building a world they love, with people they care about. It suggests that the more we get to know people, in both their strengths and their struggles, the more compelled we become to protect them, and it is through sharing ourselves and connecting with others that we build compassion and confidence enough to stand up for one another. It acknowledges that there will always be those who seek to control others, out of fear or the desire to feel strong, but allows you to decide when to step in, to deal back what they dish out, and provide a place where those they victimise may live safely, comfortably, and with a say in their future

It does this in a way designed to be sustainable, with communities not only preserving the natural world around them, but rewilding the land and providing space for nature to flourish.

It is with this mindset that Why We Fight operates, in its attitude to our planet and our way to bring the best out of those around us. It is my hope that people find their experience, crafted foremost by their imagination and the imagination of those around them, to be inspirational, because we cannot achieve a better world if we cannot imagine one.

There isn't actually a section for this. The preview doesn't actually explain WTF happened.

The Guiding Hand / White Fist

It didn’t all fall at once. There was no grand finale. Community is the instinct in the face of collapse, and when the big G government fell, there were councils and unions, citizen’s assemblies, even gangs and pockets of military units trying to keep slices of order.

Under the protection of their exceptionally funded militia and its state-of-the-art gear, only his Protectorates could provide true stability, forgoing the tyranny and conflicts of herd thinking for the strength and certainty of a single-minded hand to guide people back to an ordered world. Between his immense financial power and international connections, he could manage and provide the balance necessary for a just world.

So entire cities have crumbled, but money still has value, and what I assume to be Russia is also still fine.
