So Square-Enix is apparently doing some Action-RPG-thingie called "Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin" (because why settle for short names? Also makes me think of Stranger of Sword City everytime I hear it), which is apparently some gritty edgelord alternate universe reboot of the original game.
For some reason they have both Garland as a bad guy and a protagonist called Jack Garland, which is totally not confusing at all.
Also this Jack guy has got to be the lamest-looking protagonist of any Action RPG, let alone a Japanese one, let alone a Japanese one with character designs by Tetsuya "Zipperpants" Nomura:
