So I just read that Age of Empires IV is essentially just AoE2 with less content. Even has the Frenchie and Mongol campaigns (but no Barbarossa, of course).
Guess the Definitive Edition wasn't definitive enough.

Not really. It's a good deal different but none of the differences really seem to be good.
So it's essentially AoE3.
