The story stuff in the new wolfenstein just looks awful. The first reboot game was ok with the story, I guess. I liked how there was a mix of james bond kind of shit along with wolfenstein craziness/humor and some dark moments. I think the most effective bit is right at the start, when you do a tutorial section and end with BJ getting shot or something and becoming a legit retard for years. That's unexpectedly dark and realistic.

But I felt the gameplay in that game failed to live up to what it should have been, and I still stand by what I said before. I'd consider the game overrated in the same way farcry 3 is. Not unplayable, but mediocre. I was really hoping for more Painkiller and less cover shooting/stealth shooting.

The new shit looks downright bad though.

Well, when it comes to shitty wanna-be-filmschool-graduate efforts, nothing beats DICE Stockholm (more Swedes, coincidence?) and their increasingly pathetic efforts with games like Mirror's Edge Catashit and Niggerfield 1 - first one is especially bad, because they took a promising but flawed game and destroyed everything good about it, namely movement and gameplay in general, then tried to make it into more cinematic, more compelling adventure. They failed so hard.

There is actually some pretty good acting, but that doesn't matter when they're forced to say such stupid crap - in most of the cutscenes you'll get an impression that someone at DICE desperately wants to make a movie, but EA isn't letting them, probably for a very good reason.

As for Bubbafield, the multiplayer is all right despite extensive faggotry from DICE's side and their endless efforts to sabotage the experience with new bugs they're adding with each patch, the single player is wretched just like in their previous games. To be fair, gameplay wise it's better than BF4, but that's not a compliment.

Story-wise, it's downright insulting to people who fought the war, and even worse, lot of morons that purchased the game were impressed by the ridiculous stuff happening in the campaign - it's taking itself super seriously and failing miserably. This, not Wolfenstein, is the pinnacle of cringly shit. When Machine Games with NWO understood how to make something over the top, yet cool and compelling, DICE fails to make something that's supposed to be serious with subtlety of a 12 years old edgelord who's testicles have yet to drop.

Dice was never ever good. They suck so bad it's not even funny. Small modding communities made better Battlefields than them. They are a retard studio owned by a retard publisher that lives off of nothing but the Battlefield license but are just terrible at making them.
They are a lot like Bethesda, actually. They've had successful games, despite being damn near incompetent at actually making a game.

That's a good description of Bethesda, and why I've always been more of an Obsidian fanboy than Bethesda or Bioware. Even though Obsidian's shit is always unfinished and buggy, at least the core of a good game is in there. I can't say I've played many Obsidian games that were outright bad or full of AAA current year lunacy. Not like Ass Effect, Skyrim and AssAssin's Greed.

They are a lot like Bethesda, actually.

Unlike Bethesda, they don't have a shitty engine, their games don't pretend to be rpgs and they have a second studio that usually fixes the mess they release. I've liked said, Battlefield 4 is great, but it was a disaster even 6 months after launch. Their biggest problem is that someone at DICE is delusional and under impression that they should keep doing single player stuff and not hire decent writers and mission designers instead of the clowns they currently employ to build that shit.

EA demands it I guess, since they're trying to get as much CoD audience as possible, but at least have some dignity and put more effort into it! BF1 didn't have a disasterous launch, so for some reason they're making up for it by introducing really bad bugs with the DLC...

The most infuriating thing about DICE and Bethesda is that they always make something with a lot of wasted potential...
