The game is such a buggy mess they had to have reviewer bribes deals in order for them to not show gameplay footage in their reviews before release. The Crowbcat video is going to be hilarious, as Razor said the fact that Bugthesda's games didn't bother people after a while but in this one it still does shows how much they fucked up.
I'll wait for the aforementioned crowbcat video. I'm not listening to Razorsperge. I knew it was going to be buggy trash on release because... Name me a western rpg that wasn't on release. The best you can hope for is the game becomes playable with patches later. I think vanilla New Vegas on console is about as "polished" as they ever get. Because while New Vegas on console has bugs, I've rarely encountered one that broke my save file. Happened all the time in Skyrim though.
How often has a game been in development for this long and came out well? I can't think of one.
Miyamoto's maxim about a rushed game being shit forever and a delayed game maybe being okay sometimes was wrong. Hindsight has shown a delayed game will always be catastrophic shit.
That's only correct to a certain degree. You can take that long for a book or board game, even for a movie to some degree. Something where the technology doesn't advance.
But for a video game, eventually the system and engine are outdated.
Not to mention that he made the statement when there was no such thing for consoles as patches. He was likely referring to delaying a game for a few weeks or maybe months to fix bugs.
I'm sure there's an Anthem situation going on here. They fucked about for years, not settling on the basic gameplay loop and actual development likely didn't start longer than two years ago, if not less.
I bet we'll eventually hear how the development was a massive clusterfuck.
