Asscreed Shadows looks fucking awful, so it's quite possible they could sell fewer copies than they need/expect.
I've seen the gameplay. The ninja bitch is like Great Value Tenchu with none of the depth. We Wuz Samurais N Sheeit Nigga gameplay is just Odyssey/RPGCreed gameplay. So, complete garbage. You'd think after the lukewarm reception of Valhalla, Ubi would get the idea that people don't fucking want this shitty rpg gameplay. I don't want to play a historical fiction game and see flashing damage numbers flying off of the enemies. Nor do I want to fight fucking Odin and Thor, or swing weapons that are perpetually on fire like I'm playing a looterscooter game.
You know what I would have liked to see in RPGCreeds? Historical accuracy. There are very few weapons or armor sets in Valhalla that actually look period appropriate.

That low-test Vikings tv show is probably most historically accurate than AssCreed Valhalla. Don't expect any better from Shadows, despite the fact that realistic samurai simulation games have already been created.
Edit: The reason why the lack of historicity matters in AssCreed is because every old AssCreed game is only very selectively unrealistic. That is to say, they try to be as authentic as possible to the time and place, but then they are unrealistic on the whole Templar/Assassin war side of things. So they might have Leonardo Da Vinci making weapons for Assassins. Or let Edward Kenway escape on the only ship of the Spanish Treasure Fleet to survive its fateful storm. That's unrealistic, but it's in service to the story of Templars and Assassins. The Founding Fathers in AssCreed III are helping the Assassins, while the Templars support the British. That's all fake, but it's fake around the game's plot. It's not just fake for the sake of being fake.
All things being equal, AssCreed games should be about 90% historically accurate or plausible, and then 10% that's unrealistic is the Templar/Assassin war.
Valhalla has so much random shit in it that makes no fucking sense and portrayals of "vikings" that are all wrong and taken straight from popular culture/that tv show.
