Must have a big Minecraft community, I assume. There was a period of months where YT kept pestering me to watch some of it.

I've set my YouTube to other country. It helps, a bit.. At least the videos with people making stupid faces could be anything if the titles are in Cyrillic (which I can't read) and there is probably not much heinous crap out there that rivals bibis beauty palace in awfulness.

Trying to clean up your recommendations is a pointless struggle. They will recommend garbage to you no matter what.
The app FreeTube shows only the videos of the channels you subscribe to.
No account required, no ads and no age restrictions.
The only downside is that the videos may lag if you are using uTorrent and/or a VPN.

Another seemingly random channel (((YouTube))) tries to shove down me throat. Now don't get me wrong, I like solid atheist arguments, but just from the thumbnail I could tell that this tumblr pronouns-in-bio lesbian is an Atheist+, who just likes to pick on easy targets.

I don't really hate Dunkey, I think he's super one-note with his whole "talking like a black guy" shtick, but I agree with this sentiment that him trying to be a publisher is going to blow up in his face
