Besides McMeekin, there's Will Durant, although his autism produced a massive amount of work with his Story of Civilization (it's available on YouTube as a huge series of audio books).

I also like TIK History, a British guy whose shtick is doing huge documentaries about specific battles and operations of WWII. He's a bit autistic when dealing with economics, logistics and "Hitler was a socialist" stuff (I mean, he was, to a certain degree, but it was complicated), but he's one of the few video producers that have a Patreon and actual work ethics.
