Cats don't need their claws clipped. They need a scratch tree and take care of that themselves.

Domestic cats won't fully dull their claws, so specially if you're going to take them to vet or give them a bath, it's a good idea to clip just the pointy tip of their claws so they don't hurt you.

"Domestic" cats, as in not allowed outside, is something completely retarded and very recent as well. Cats aren't fully domesticated. It's as bad of an idea as keeping a domestic pig in your living room and then complain about the poo corner.

That's what happens when you get a cat into an apartment. A house cat will definitely get out during the day or night, and there's nothing much you can do about it except have a cat's door so it won't wake you up to get in or out.
