Now Peppermint Park is the kind of shit that is up there with Candle Cove. The spooky scary skeleton Snip Snap is just a goofy/harmless (except its song is catchy, the opposite of harmless) dance.
I have no doubt in my mind that Peppermint Park was the primary inspiration for Candle Cove.
Where Candle Cove - and many other "Lost Episode"-style creepypastas - fail is that that they are too edgy and nonsensical. You don't need big conspiracies about single episodes or entire shows so disturbing that they had to be erased from history (because nobody involved in the production of your typical cartoon episode would ever raise an eyebrow at "Dead Bart" or "Squidward Suicide" until the whole thing was finished ). The yokels of Peppermint Park just didn't know any better.
