When games have realistic guns, my eyes usually glaze and my enjoyment is hitting zero. I dunno, I just love the ludicrous guns with the most ridiculous reloads, like Duke's or Doom's and Unreal Torunament's. Just utter bullshit designs that look cool and reload ever cooler. I even like Ion Maiden's 18-shell magnum.

Same here. In a grounded game it can be okay, but for something like an FPS I want a BFG or a Cerebral Bore. It’s why I can’t get into CoD, just a variety of guns that don’t really feel distinct from one another. At least in a survival horror game you usually have each gun serve a purpose, like the magnums in RE being a one hit kill on most enemies or the shotgun fantastic for blasting apart zombies. Sure it’s not realism but it’s fun, and that’s what matters.
I think one of the most fun weapons in a game was the retro lancer from the Gears series, I loved blindsiding people with that bayonet charge. The most kino game for insane and varied weapons of recent memory is hands down Lost Planet 2. Shuriken grenades and gun swords.

That shit's got nothing on E.X. Troopers. I had to go through a type of Bloody Palace on "Natsu MUst DIe" mode, alone to beat the game and I discovered how even the most ridiculous guns could be fucking great. I gained a whole new appreciation for my laser crossbow with spreadfire, my fire-ball spewing minigun, my satelite-laser gun, my ice railgun and I think I even had a fire shotgun that had the secondary effect of leaving a trail of lava and counted as melee damage?
Really wild shit. And since I was level 10, I had flaming shoryukens, roundhouse kicks on fire and Kenshiro's Hien Ken n fire just because it was the cool thing to do...on an Ice planet.
Yeah, that mission, on the 3DS, alone. My last run had me doing it with zeor damage for the first three rounds in order to beat the darn thing.

I prefer handguns in my fps though they always make them weak and/or slow because they want you to use the other crap. Played the hell out of Goldeneye Wii a decade ago, running around using my revolver to one-shot bitches like it was my job.

It's E.X. Troopers aka Lost Planet 4. It was a technical marvel on the 3DS since it basically squeezed the MT Frameworks engine to work on a portable console. The MT Frameworks engine for reference was used for the following games :
Devil May Cry 3 (prototype)
Devil May Cry 4
Sengoku Basara 3, 4, Yukimura-Den
Dragon's Dogma
Monster Hunter World
Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and all its iterations
Tatsunoko vs Capcom and all its iterations
And of course it was made for easy porting of console games to the PC, which is why you can do all that black magic with DMC4 on PC.
Yeah, Capcom's engineers circa 2006-2014 were just THAT good.
It's a Capcom game on the 3DS, so the Rathalos armour was a given unlockable bonus at the time, due to MonHun 4 being super popular. It's basic cross-promotion stuff to put it bluntly.

Oh, that makes sense. I didn't know it was a Crapcom game.
