Probably. And those special breed dogs are full of nonsense. You want a dog, you grab a mutt from the streets or the shelter, and it will serve you long and faithfully with minimal need for treatments, just take it to get to get the vaccines and once in a while for checkups.

Cats do require attention, but that's on their own inconvenient terms. For example, my mom has a black male cat that loves going outside at night, only to come back inside 3AM and wake her up because he wants food.

Those are still dogs. They still need to go for a walk and you've got to bring them everywhere.
A cat that can go outside is completely fine to just stay at home all day while you're at work. It won't bark all day or destroy your pillows.

The dumbest thing is to directly compare cats to dogs all the time in the first place. You don't do that with fish, bunnies, snakes or really any other pet animal that also don't listen to commands.
People also forget the actually terrible common pets: birds and horses.
