What it was banking on was being another Redditors of the Galaxy, because no one knew who they were either. But, leaving aside that Deadshot isn't fucking black, getting Will 'Slap a hoe' Smith to play him was one of the worst casting decisions ever

Aside from Blob, who loved Dark Knight until all the conservatives said they loved Dark Knight too, that's not especially true. It really is just because DC's movies are fuckin' shit. I mean, we wuz Suicide Squad and sheeit is legitimately one of the worst superhero movies ever made.

It is, but so are most of Mahvel garbage capeshit. I think the difference is that the Avengers are a tram of superheroes most normalfags heard about somewhere (even if their comics sell like shit), while Suicide Squad had a bunch of villains no one ever cared about.

It's funny how Warner manages to tank the Justice League, since that's a better direct comparison to the Avengers. Maybe it's the Superfriends collective memory that makes normalfags incapable of liking DC capes?

But not in the same way. The Mahvel shit is competently made and the characters at least resemble the ones people are familiar with, they're just dull and formulaic. Whereas We Wuz Suicide Squad is just a trainwreck, none of the parts are particularly well cast and the execution is just terrible

Maybe but I don't buy that as an explanation. The target for this is millennials and younger. Maybe your older millennials only remember Superfriends and therefore can't take the Justice League seriously, but your younger millennials are more likely to know the characters from the Bruce Timm Justice League cartoons, where they were executed well
