You answered your own question. The most sold cheese, sausage, coffee, bread and such? Pretty bland, flavourless, middling to bad stuff.
No substance, nothing interesting, nothing exciting. But uncomplicated and, to a subhuman that is such a waste of space it wouldn't even matter to them if they existed or not, that's how they like it.
