Tony Iommi and Hendrix still had the guitar stringed as you'd string a lefty guitar. Wound strings on the top, E A D G B E from top to bottom.

This "guitarist" - not James - whatever the fuck his name is, literally plays a righty upside down.
E B G D A E, unwound strings at the top.

I know, it's so fucking stupid that that option wouldn't even occur to someone. I understand the confusion.
When I saw that shit in the music video, I just assumed that the guy didn't have a lefty guitar handy for filming and just borrowed a righty and didn't bother to re-string it because it's just for show for the recording.
But it turns out he actually plays that way, which goes a long way to explain why it sounds so shitty.


James doesn't play his guitar upside down. He just uses an 8-string for absolutely no reason, when he actually could do what Max Cavalera does and play a six string without the B and E strings because he doesn't use them anyway.

He probably grabbed another guitar since that's what guitarists tend to do during concerts. Probably has 8 strings cause that was the only one left.

Motherfucker, that is his guitar. He bought it, knowing full well he has no use for an 8-string.
Is everyone besides that one guest completely fucking dense? Do your brains turn off when instruments are invoked in a discussion? How is any of this so difficult to comprehend?

Ohh, the other guitarist. I didn't even pay attention to the other guy. Many users were talking about James being the one using the left hand guitar.

Why did he use the 8-string guitar? That's what he used in the Eye of the tiger video when the tempo picked up. Maybe it was intended to be kind a "now shit's getting real" moment, although there was no real use for 8-string there, he never used the low register of the scale.

He string his guitar with banjo strings and tunes down to C# IRC.
