The first book's hardcover sold ~34,000, was on the NYT bestseller list for a week. The second book was ~9,000 and didn't break any top ten lists, even Amazon's extremely niche classifications. The fact the books receive no fanfare anymore means the publisher realizes they made a bad deal based only on the fact she was a moderately popular IN and they're only doing this out of contractual obligation.
