I don't remember where it was posted in the thread, but I remember hearing someone... Maybe even LK himself, talk about years of watching particular kinds of porn. If he had an addictive personality and was obsessively/autistically entranced by the trannyporns, maybe his loneliness and 'tism caused him to self-hypnotize that he was an anime catgirl.

It's also worth pointing out the timing of his sex change. Right about middle age. Most of the posters on this website are probably just about reaching middle age, if not there already. What often happens around the middle of your life? A crisis. Identity crisis, freaking out because your life isn't where you wish it was, insane over-compensating for what you feel you lack... Could be as simple as a midlife crisis mixed with autism. I don't know if LK has had long-term relationships in his life, or if he was in a happy one at the time of his transition. But I kinda doubt it on that last point.

I know LK's party line now is that he's always been trans and always knew he was trans. But he sure as hell never gave any indications of such before his drastic and total personality change.
