It's a bit like how some alcoholics are lightweights. They get two stiff drinks and are super smashed. Problem is, they start right when they get up and don't stop drinking throughout the entire day.

So plenty of flubber whales will snack throughout the entire day without pause, but they couldn't just comp eat a tray like that.

I've known two actual alcoholics that I could drink under the table no problem. It's just that when they wake up after two hours of being passed out they will get right back to it.
