If the kill count gimmick disappeared, no one would bat an eyelid because these videos were never fundamentally about discussing special effects to begin with. They're comedic movie recaps. Most of the insight into the kills is just "ooh, that's a gnarly-looking dead body".

The way I see it, James has two options: either go completely populist and start talking about shit like Indiana Jones and Star Wars, or go completely niche and start talking about the weirdest horror films possible.

I can't say I really HATE his wife, but I feel like an overexposure of her is a real big problem for the channel. Her Kill Count episodes always gotta either be the most generic written garbage, or gotta sound like it has to be "female empowering" which is pure dog shit. I am almost tempted to see if he is gonna let her do a Texas Chainsaw re-count that is all her, considering her love for Bubba, James would sit there in the corner like the cuck he is.
