I never watched Ends. It just sounded so stupid, and I still had a sour taste in my mouth from Kills.

Plus, seeing that Dr Loomis impersonator in Kills really brought home how shit these films are without Donald Pleasence. The formula does not work without him.

Trust me, Ends will make you love Kills. Hyperbole aside Kills had some redeeming qualities, Ends has little to nothing I can praise.

I think the problem with Ends comes from the fans who just want Michael Myers on screen all the time. Ends plays straight with a story that isn't everyone's cup of tea, which I get, but just like Halloween 3 if it was a separate movie from the franchise, it would be decent enough.

I was bothered less by lack of Michael and more how bizarre everyone acted. Like the old black lady blaming Laurie for Michael’s rampage when the whole point of the films was he had no interest in her, how everyone treated Corky, the whole town going to shit after the 2018 night, the analogue to Christine. Fucking marching band bullies. Recreating woman yelling at cat meme. There’s just so much wrong with that movie that even thinking about it makes me nauseated.

David Gordon Green doesn't seem to know how to write characters, that is kinda the problem I have with most movies made within the last 10 years, lots of people not knowing how to accurately write for people because they are self absorbed by a corporate machine like Hollywood.

What’s weird is that I didn’t mind some of the weird character dialogue and “humor” in 2018 and Kills. Toby Huss was funny as hell and I liked the guy they got for Lonnie. The kid Julian was also great. It didn’t all pan out, but some worked I guess.

That's what happens when you have a movie that was only meant to be a single film and not a trilogy but gets made into one. Too many half-assed ideas.
