Is that running clip really used that often? Feels like 95+% of the time I see it referenced, it's him whining about it.

I'd say it's a combination of him blowing it out or proportion because his ego demands vengeance, and trolls deliberately reposting the gif because they
know it gets under his skin each and every time.
