Yeah pretty much. One of the kiwis went to a Q+A of hers and she said she had to make the third book shorter. It really did come across as the publisher is only releasing the third book out of contractual obligation and nothing more. Her only success as an author was from the first week of the release of her first book when she got on the New York Times Bestsellers List for a week at number 7. The publisher just thought that her books would be a massive success because she has hundreds of thousands of subsribers and it bit them in the ass when reality set in.

The dumb ass publisher should have forced an editor on her. Those books were a boring mess, especially the 2nd. The first had some "so bad they're amusing moments" but the second was so boring that I just couldn't slog through it.

My guess is she ran out of fucks to give after the first book didn't fly off the shelves and declared the next great American novel. The second book got released with little to no fanfare, not even from Lindsay herself. If it wasn't for here and foxdicks I wouldn't have even known about anything after the first one.

The main character gets hit in the face with a black erected dick that was ripped from a guy miles away by an enorm atomic explosion. The big, dark, fleshy projectile rips the head from her shoulders before her corpse gets mauled by the shockwave and heat of the explosion and the last thing that goes throught her head like a Brown Flesh Missile are....."Strange.....it feels just like a HotDog that is thrown at your face....."

I just don't get it. Why Aliens? And she gives it a big epic arthur c clarke style title like
Axioms End but it's like highschool creative writing tier. I don't remember ever seeing nostalgia chic on above top secret reviewing crop circles or cattle mutilations. It's juvenile fantasy shit with a very weak grasp of the genre. Was it because vampires and zombies were too overused? Why didn't she write something non-fiction? The Alien/UFO phenomenon is a big part of the american mythos isn't it? With all the media that's been made concerning that topic, it's easily the worst I've ever seen showing very little understanding of the subject matter beyond just a vehicle for her shitty characters and storytelling.
