Yeah, Sensui was too strong so it called for one of the biggest asspulls of 90s anime. The Sensui arc was good up until that point.

Anime intro music, especially at that time, was some of the gayest shit ever. They show magic bullshit fight scenes and the music is more suited to a stroll on the beach with your dog playing fetch.

I thought Yu Yu Hakusho was something quite special for the first five or so volumes. It was more "paranormal investigator delinquent" which is still pretty interesting as a concept. Yusuke could only fire his OMGWTFBBQ reiki blast once per day, so he'd use it up and then get fucked by demons out of nowhere. Yusuke as a Cromartie-esque delinquent provided some funny moments too. But then the animu/mango became a tournament fighter and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. I thought a lot of characters lost their personalities during all the tourney fighting bullshit. It is by the same guy who did Hunter X Hunter.
