He probably came from a strict religious Puerto Rican familia who labeled vidya as "the Devil," forbidding him from access in his youth. Either that, or he was too poor back then.

I doubt either of those. If he was too poor to afford games, he'd never stop bitching about it, and if he had deeply religious conservative family who wouldn't let him play them because they were 'the Devil' (or 'El Diablo') he REALLY wouldn't stop bitching about it.

The simplest explanation is usually the best: He never played vidya before because he wasn't interested in it. He only started to become interested once he saw YouTube videos about video games made easy money for the least amount of effort.

He's basically the fat latino equivalent of Anita Sarkeesian

Yeah, he got into vidya around the time big money and big media became interested in vidya. There's nothing complex in that.
