Also same. My dick doesn't even react to new Star Wars announcements anymore.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 11:00 amI relate. I'm about the same age as Mike and I have no curiosity about new Star Wars beyond watching the stuff fail, which is connected to a broader interest in watching Hollywood's fixation on franchises fail.

Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Reddit Letter Media
I've seen the original trilogy as a kid before they were made ridiculously shitty by Lucas plastering CGI on top of it. I thought they were okay. The aesthetic of the universe has always been better than the actual movies themselves.
I had a few toys and I liked some of the video games. Those have always been better than the movies to me.
When Episode I came around, it was massively hyped up. It was supposedly "our" Star Wars trilogy. A way to experience a glimpse of what it must've been like in the 70s for the people around the cinema release of the original three movies.
All of them blew ass! Nobody liked Episode I, Episode II was seen as mediocre and everyone was holding out hope for the third movie.
Review sites were running cope propaganda about how it was going to be darker (or at least not as goofy) as the first two movies and that we would get to see how this whiny bitch Anakin became badass Darth Vader. It too was a pile of steaming shit.
I had no hope for Episode III to be any good after watching the first two but I was going to those movies with friends and thought I might as well watch all of them. This is very similar to how I will often read a book series until it truly turns to absolute shit but will at least finish whatever pile of crap ruins it.
But what I also did was that I swore to myself that they'll never get me again. I'll never fall for their shit again. Thus I haven't watched any of the Disney movies or shows and never will. Doesn't even matter that it's Disney. I wouldn't have watched a Lucas one either, even if people swore up and down they were great.
Since I never loved the series to begin with it was very easy to follow through with it.
People just need to let this kind of shit die. Everything has a point where it falls off. A novel series, a band, movies, all eventually either end or turn at least so mediocre they are not worth spending your time with. Star Wars has been past that point since the turn of the fucking millennium!

It’s just really astounding how they can defend all of the fucking Star Wars shit but when it comes to Star Trek, that’s crossing the line. Like everything they bitched about Star Trek discovery for is basically modern Day Star Wars.

Re: Reddit Letter Media
Star Trek is an interesting example, because a lot of the Trek that's not Original Series is pretty shit. Even the worst episodes of Old Trek are shitty in an endearing way, but there are some big chunks of TNG and DS9 that are not good. The movies based on those properties were bad too IIRC. Then there's Voyager and all the other shit which also sucks ass, despite millennials trying to nostalgiabait them as secretly good shows.
Star Wars hasn't been good since Return of the Jedi at best. If we take the games, then I'd say Battlefront II (original), KotoR II (unfinished but promising) and a few of the other licensed games were at least solid. But back to films, even Return of the Jedi had a lot of stuff in it that was pretty mediocre, like the Ewoks and shit. Harrison seemed like he was ready to check out. The best bits of Jedi are the very beginning with Jabba and the very end with the Emperor. Everything else is just there.
Not only do these franchises need to die but they needed to die decades ago, for the good of us all. But big media IPs never die, so long as there is money to squeeze from them.
I wonder how Mike feels that autists on the internet are going to enable his own autism to sperge about retarded media properties for the rest of his life, until he inevitably becomes senile and winds up in a nursing home, rambling to nobody about Captain Picard?

Of course, I'm deliberately not talking about the parts of TNG and DS9 that are good, because autists online already know exactly which parts those are and sperge about them endlessly. We all know that Duet is a good episode of DS9 because it shows off what a hypocritical cunt Major Kira is, and we know The Drumhead was good, The Measure of a Man, blah blah there are five lights, who the fuck cares about this goddamn autism that's 20 fucking years old.

Meh my opinion and I don’t care how shit people think it is but Star Trek and Doctor Who were never great. In fact I would say they were always shit. If I want British sci-fi, I would watch red dwarf over fucking Doctor Who Cares.
And you know what I find it ironic that they bitched so much about the politics ruining the prequels when all Star Trek is; is boring politics

I'm sure Starfleet Academy will have such sights to show him.
Annoying girlbosses and obnoxious subversion shit trying to paint the Jedi as evil isn't exactly breaking new ground.Gendo's Ocular Dickhole wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 3:01 am>A-at least the series tried something new!
