I'm really shocked at how bad some close captioning is. I always assume it's MarzGurl's doing when I see a particularly bad job.

I have close captioning on when autistic family with me that insist on constantly asking questions about what's going on as if I was the one that wrote it. Basically this:


I always thought that close-captioners would work from original scripts. That is often not the case. Today on Batman '66, I saw shit like "ilk" rendered as "elk", "eluded" written as "alluded", and "Joker" rendered as "Chuck". These people obviously have grade school level vocabularies and hearing problems themselves.

Just because close-captioning is probably mandated because of the hearing-impaired doesn't mean you have to invest too much money into it.

Watching movies with other people is the worst shit ever second only to listening to music with others.
I hated it as a kid, I hated it as a teenager and I hate it as a manchild.

I don't like especially like watching movies/TV with others either. However, at my age it seems to be the only way I can get friends together to do anything. "Let's go see a movie."
I'd rather they just come to my place and hang out and chat. But it's either movies or go to some noisy bar where I can't talk or hear anyone.
