Not really the best Spider-Man of the 70s, let alone the one with the manliest hair.

The animation recycling is rampant. The first Doc Ock ep had a very well done shot by TMS of Spidey dodging Ock's tentacles attacking some wooden crates. Every future ep with Doc Ock uses that clip.
Same with every Lizard ep. Great TMS shot of the Lizard's tail smashing a concrete wall. Get used to it, you'll be seeing it in every ep the Lizard shows up in. I think that show recycled animation more than Filmation.
Some of the greatest shows of all time have recycled shit like crazy. The Record of Lodoss War OVAs did it (my favorite being a stylized sword clash SFX that can show up
multiple times in the same episode), and it set the fucking gold standard for fantasy animu (and most importantly fantasy hentai).
Real talk, though: I wonder if he'll handwave the recycled animation with a classic manchild cope. I sadly can't think of a specific example right now, but whenever I happen to read about people justifying their obsession with low-budget shows, I keep finding shit along the lines of "Because the show didn't have a high budget, the creators were forced to put all their love and care into the
writing instead".
This fallacy reminds me of tabletop fags like Kevin Siembieda of Rifts fame who
insists that randomly-rolled states are the One True Way (TM) to create a character. Because rolling shitty stats equals good roleplaying!
The weird part about it is the recycling was done with wild abandon. Going with the Nicholas Hammond Peter design meant Peter had an assymeterial hair design, and one old animation trick to recycle shots is to mirror them. Well, guess what autistic Semper decided to do?
The funny shit is when US companies outsourced animation and got shit back from Japan, Korea, and 'unknown philipino studio' (look at Fox's X-Men Season 3, you'll see what i mean) they usually air it, errors and all. Like, the errors are usually really fucking bad. The '87 TMNT is notoriously bad, where you had AKOM have turtles morph from one turtle into another sometimes within frames.
You read John Semper's interviews about animation errors, yeah, he throws people, like the asforementioned Bob Richardson under the fucking bus, but John was show runner. It was his responsibility ultimately to make a good fucking show. Bob Richardson kept getting work in animation, and John didn't so guess what the industry thought of that.
Bruce Timm one time sent animation back from TMS, the 'good japanese studio' before for errors, and the higher up's at Warner Bros nearly had a heart attack because they were afraid he was going to sour relations. Timm didn't care, it was a blatant error. He left some animation errors in on purpose because they amused him(like one time Spectrum studios reversed Batman's logo, and Bruce Timm liked it because it reminded him of Filmation, which is where he got his start in animation). But overall, if you're the showrunner, you gotta own the errors.
How do I know so much about Semper? It's a funny story, used to do an animation podcast, and I remember always feeling like the Spidey cartoon was watered down, and I did some research and read some of Semper's interviews, felt there was something 'off' with the guy, looked into it and realized the guy was a nutjob.
