I have never met anyone that wasn't a child back then that likes the prequels.
Especially Episode I was heavily criticised with lots of coping for the next two movies.

The only one I know is my dad, who unironically asked when Disney would bring back his favourite character - Jar Jar

I don't mind them at all. Clones is a bit shit, but Menace is watchable and Revenge is very entertaining. I was young when they came out and I didn't really differentiate much between the trilogies beyond taking note of how the ship designs had changed.

It's a shame the new Asterix books aren't very memorable

Its greatest sin is not killing off the asshooker. Now any Disney+ series set post-RotJ will be that much worse by the threat of her still existing.

She is dead by Rise of Skywalker, though.
