Yugioh's best (as in "you definitely can't play the meta without it") card currently is... a loli fairy. I'm sure Voice can appreciate that.

YGO is the king of card battle games, both analogue and digital. All others pale in comparison, for none of the others have the Dark Magician Girl.

And it's not very horrifying, so the game probably isn't either.
It's a card game. The only way it could frighten anyone is if the pictures included Lupa nudes.

This one isn't a clone of anything else, and it doesn't have anything to do with Slay the Spire, Magic The Cuckening or Hearthstone.
What about Yugioh?

I'm very suspicious of card battler games right now because they seem to be the new indie meta, like super meat boy clones were in 2010.

The cards represent currencies, statistics, creatures and artifacts and you have to figure out how to use and combine them putting them into boxes with timers which either represent actions or events that screw you over (the first of which is the "Time Passes" box, that continuously consumes your money cards, forcing you to find a source of income to stay alive).
It's all about the writing and the music.

I think this lovecraft game works because it leaves so much to your imagination.
You will probably like this one:

Card game in which you start as the janitor of an asylum (there are also other starting backgrounds to unlock and as dlcs, like former detective, doctor and so on) and you become the leader of a cult determined to discover the hidden knowledge behind the world one sacrifice at a time.
The game doesn't tell you anything and you have to figure out everything on your own, you can die at any moment because of starvation, disease, insanity, murder or be sent to jail because eventually you will have to start committing crimes.
Even finding a solid source of income can be difficult, and so far i haven't figured out how to perform a ritual.

I must once again restate the superiority of MGS2's Japanese acting, particularly of Solidus

One of the biggest casting mistakes in the English version was not getting Hayter to play Solidus. John Cygan was fine but they really should have gotten Hayter and gotten him to really ham it up. The English version really lost something by having Solid and Solidus played by different people
