Here's another old meme that is now relevant.

Oh man, I liked to ironically reference Reddit more when it was just "le enlightened intellectual Rick & Morty meme site".

I repeat my deeply held belief and desire that Reddit be flushed down the fucking toilet (no offence, mad bum)

It would just get replaced by another equally corrupted hellsite, like what PedoEra is to PedoGAF or what TikTok is to Vine.

SonyGAF was a small niche site, easy to come up with a small niche replacement especially for its dying user base. Same with Vine

The question is which website its userbase would migrate to. We saw with Tumblr that most of them migrated to TikTok and Twatter.
Re: Reddit hired, then protected, then fire, a pedo as Site Administrator
Well, look to TheDonald or FatPeopleHate or the dozens of other communities plebbit banned. They either formed new sites or went to 8chan or something. Probably the exact same thing would happen if the whole site folded. The biggest communities would form new sites, the smaller communities would either go somewhere else or just die, and what's left would probably avail themselves of the three or four plebbit clones there are floating around.
The point is that plebbit is kind of centralised so if it dies the internet sort of becomes a bit more decentralised. It's exactly the reason Twatter and all the others should die. Look at Twatter, all the conservative off-shoots (Truth Social, Gettr, Gab) don't get anywhere the engagement that Twatter itself does, and when Musk was first posturing about buying it, all the libshits were threatening to go to some libshit friendly off-shoots which are exactly the same deal as the conservative ones

Luckily for them, he never wanted to buy it.

Even if he had bought it, he wouldn't have done anything to change it and they would have kept on using it anyway, for the same reason that conservatives still use Big Tech even though Big Tech hates them. The exposure

Supposedly today Reddit is going "dark" (its top communities going private for a day) because the company decided to charge for access to their API, and their jewed up rates are allegedly making it impossible for third party apps to operate, and for some reason, "third party apps" is how most people consoom Reddit shit (instead of the official™ Reddit™ app™). Supposedly, that's also how a lot of the tranny jannies do their, ahem, very important jobs on the platform, so whatever subreddits aren't participating on this nonsense should be full of funposting today.
