Makes sense from the Chinese party's point of view. You don't want to give potential protesters arm-shattering range advantage.AdorableOtter wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2017 1:05 pmI forgot the exact reason but traditional Chinese martial arts went through some serious retardation for (hundreds of) years and they are basically government backed fitness religion now. It's quite unfortunate considering karate/jiu-jitsu came from/through China.
Even Wing Chun (what Bruce Lee learned first) style isn't exception, they are all shit now.

Quite confident that Tai Chi guy thinking he would stand a chance against a professional MMA fighter in a MMA match. Oh well, better get that reality check late than never.

Those are really good analysis of McGregor and Mayweather's skillset. (btw, his voice sounds like ExtraSmegma, maybe he is Smegma and he can shatter your arms)
At least McGregor's part is worth watching. You'll notice he is a quite good kick boxer/striker who utilizes lots of kicks. Without those kicks, he'll have a haaaarrrd time catching up to Mayweather's footwork.

The stupid part is, they had to re-invent a practical arm shattering martial arts for military (Sanshou, basically Chinese copy of Muay Thai and Shooto Boxing). They of course claim it's based on traditional kung-fu, and of course that's 100% pure bullshit. That's Muay Thai you goddamn communists.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2017 4:06 pmMakes sense from the Chinese party's point of view. They wouldn't be commies without some historical revisionism.

Ah NOPE. There are no pure "puncher" or "wrestler/BJJ guy" anymore. You're talking like it's '90s.AdorableOtter wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2017 1:05 pmRoyce Gracie has been brought up elsewhere. Supposed God of Grappling who got his ass beat by some weak-ass karate guys. Point is, for all their bragging, a puncher has more of a chance in MMA than a wrestler/BJJ guy because the fights begin standing up.
Btw, Royce was beaten up by a Japanese pro-wrestler who learned submission wrestling under Bill Robinson (who's also a former pro wrestler). It's actually a very interesting subject on it's own. Your martial nerd expertise is totally bogus.

Your response is all over the place. Royce got beat up by a wrestler so punchers have no chance against spandex-wearing MMA macho men dripping in baby oil?

I'll bet on Mayweather. Really, it's open-ended. You never know how McDonald's was trained to fight in a boxing match and if they will go hard on each other or conclude in a twelve round hugfest.

I think whoever knows the other person's style better will win. Pretty lame, obvious opinion but there you go. I guess it depends how fast the fight is over, because the fight starts standing up. So the better stand-up fighter has the edge until the fight goes to the ground, if it does.
