Occasionally things get through the narcissist bubble (Getting fired, type two sugars, NCunt rejecting him) that he has to rationalise away to avoid narcissistic injury and realisation that he's mediocre. In the case of his second firing from The Escapist, he chalked it up to 'the pandemic', even though no one else got fired, so in his warped mind the editor wanted to keep him on they just weren't on stable enough footing financially, and so Second Wind will be calling to hire him any day now he just has to suck enough dick.
