I played painkiller ages ago. It is fun. It had an xbox original port which included the first expansion.

I was kind of hoping for some third person shooters. I wonder if that ubishit ghost recon fetchquestlands is any good.

Wildlands is buggy as shit and overall pretty garbo, sadly. I'd rather go with The Division over it but am not comfortable to recommend it either. You eventually hit a brick wall when it comes to getting equipment worth a damn. The performance is also questionable at times. I've got a mean rig and still sometimes randomly get less than desirable frames and never hit the 140 fps I ought to have.

That sucks. I'm in the mood to shoot some dudes up in the third person but most of the modern shit looks fucking terrible. Wildlands looked the least bad of the ones I heard about. I could play that garbage new splinter cell without Ironside, but it looks like that game sucks a fat one. I hear nothing but bad things about any Gears of War game made after GoW3, which I already own.

People shit on the gameplay of spec ops the line, but I remember it being perfectly fine, especially compared to its contemporaries. It's not as if tom clancy future soldier was 1000x better.

I miss the days of ghost recon 2 honestly.

Spec Ops was competent and didn't overstay it's welcome. I'm not yearning to play it again any time soon but it was perfectly fine. That whole talk just came from a desire of being a hipster soyboy that ought to get executed by claiming that it was intentionally dull to make a point with the oh so special story.
Fucking horseshit is what it is. It's an alright game with a mediocre story that's about as subtle as District 9.

Spec ops even improved some of the control aspects from gears of war cover shooters. People forget how Gears 1 was more than a little clunky in places. Not unplayable, but spec ops had better balance for things like ammo pickups and navigating obstacles.

I have nuclear throne. PC version is good but the console versions are broken, unpatched trash.

Popped in gears 3 today. Marcus Fatass moves surprisingly slowly from what I remember.

Generally speaking, those games with "overwhelmingly positive" rating are doing something quite right, it won't hurt to try an hour or two imo.

But does it have a gun that shoots katanas?

Don't worry, you can't shoot katana but you can use the almighty Chainsaw-Katana in the sequel.
