That's one of those things everyone thinks they want.
"Episode IV-A New Hope" -- That title drove me nuts as a kid. I wanted to see eps 1-3 and 7-9 so badly, as George had once promised he would make nine films.
I now wish that they were never made and I could live in that imaginative "what if?" world again.
Everything that's been done with Star Wars from 1997 forward has been so incompetent that it makes me wonder if George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy are purposely sabotaging the legacy for some reason.

George just wants to ensure that Classic Gen 1 Star Wars will always be the One True Star Wars. His worst nightmare would be if Disney actually did a trilogy that surpasses his old one.
And the whole episode numbering shit is like if he made it as a joke, but then had to run with it because some idiot went too the printing press too fast. At least I hope so.

Again, Hidden Fortress. The story starts in media res. And the subtitle "A New Hope" came well after the effect. When Star Wars came out it was just called Star Wars.

Truthfully I'd just mute the TV during midichloians and Jar-Jar.
In a way, the Plinkett reviews replaced the prequels in my mind.
I'll watch the OT and then go watch Plinkett. Those reviews will never be not funny to me.
