I'd almost swear it was a deliberate decision, to tank any new stuff (Muppet movies, new Star Wars canon, Marvel comics) so that the old stuff will continue to look pristine and thus continue to steadily sell out like crazy.
Disney are just incompetent. They were almost subject to a hostile takeover in the 1980s for precisely this reason. They had an excellent back catalogue of films but they had no major recent hits. The difference between then and now, obviously, is while their shit is completely creatively bankrupt, it sells. But it won't sell forever.

Imagine spending a billion US dollars to be a loser. Could've watched animu and be one for free.

Disney has a habit of strip mining franchises they buy, just to keep selling on the one or two things that made it popular and giving control of new kahntent to their in house fanboys.

I agree with you if not for the fact that Muppets stuff is still quite good

The tv show that ripped off the Office was bad and caused the longtime puppeteer for Kermit to be forced into retirement.

The TV show bombed and the sequel to the 2011 movie wasn't very well received. They've kinda gone silenced ever since.

Was that the tv show that implied Ms. piggy aborted her and Kermit unborn kid without asking him?

Good. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. With Disney being more and more of a leftist propaganda machine and getting more and more obnoxious that's just more gasoline for the fire.

They won't fall.
They'll just continue growing until they encompass the entire globe, and beyond.

Disney Infinity, bruh.

Nobody is too big to fail unless a government is propping them up. It's unlikely they'd completely go away in the next 100 years, but they can certainly put out massive fucking flops and even be chased out of entire industries, as they were with Disney Infinity.
