It's like those "[some asshole] invented [thing]", which has some crossover potential with the black pandering when someone goes "Actually [thing] was invented by [some nigga]!"

It paints a weird view of history where only one person ever came up with [thing], when in actuality you had multiple assholes coming to the same conclusions at around the same time, or coming up with alternative solutions.
Edison's light bulb didn't beat the competition because he was white. It was because of patenting, marketing and/or good connections.
