Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Rotten Tomatoes wise, is about 15 percentage points ahead of the 2nd one and over 20 percent ahead of the first.

Good reviews plus good box office for the other two guarantees it will likely be a massive success. Turns out every franchise needs Coldsteel the Hedgehog.

What makes me laugh is them not giving Shadow a gun. Like the Sanic movies have been toeing the line, but someone in charge knows they can't go all in on the autism. That being said, how long till they bring in Creab, Elise and Silver's fucking ass lmao.

Penders's Sanic Cinematic Universe WHEN?!

He's already working on this one in spirit, for he believes that Sanic's live-action design was inspired by the Lara-Su Chronicles.

Sonic 3.

They changed Maria's backstory, probably because Robotnik's grandfather is also Carrey in this, and Carrey plays both roles super wacky. Maria's not sick, and Gun doesn't kill her deliberately as Shadow escapes, its honestly an accident. I think the change is because Gerald going from wacky, to sober scientist, to villain, back to wacky would be too many tone shifts. Like there's a three minute stretch where he becomes a monologuing villain that almost works, but he changes back to wacky when Eggman re-enters the scene, and it is a bit of tonal whiplash.

I like this more than the Marvel stuff, if only because I got more of the references, and was actually amused by the references. Movie's cozy, but not super amazing. It's, with the exception listed above, consistently a kid's movie, just with the ability to appeal to manchildren, and I think that's a point in its favor, because it leads to a mostly consistent tone. Action was kind of sick, though. Sanic and Shadow have a fight that's like a DBZ fight mixed with the ending of the first Donner Superman.

Me also thinks that Hollywood isn't based enough to have a girl gunned down in cold blood in a children's movie.
