Which Scanners sequel is about escaped convicts? That's always a classic.

Species 1 was one of those early teen boner movies I remember.

Maximum Risk was my introduction to Natasha Henstridge. Huge childhood crush on her. She was actually still pretty hot until she started dropping kids, then she got lazy and fat.

Jennifer O'Neill is now a devout Christian herself (and is still super-hot). Always remember that slut-shaming saves souls.

She and Monica Bellucci were supposed to be in Tomorrow Never Dies until Barbara Broccoli decided to sell out to China and give us Michelle Yeoh (da fuq?) and pregnant Teri Hatcher.

Species was MGM attempting to get their own Alien/Predator/Jaws monster franchise. This was back in the ninties before Hollywood realized that nobody watches monster movies anymore. There were comic books, supplements for rpgs. It was going to be a whole thing. Then the second movie came out and torpedoed those plans. Species II was a real piece of shit, especially compared to the first one. The original wasn't a classic by any means, but I think the second movie kind of colored people's perceptions of the first.

The World of Species for the MasterBook system was probably not part of some greater multimedia strategy. West End Games - best known for their Star Wars RPG - just went through some weird phase where they would get licenses for literally everything they could get their hands on - including Indiana Jones, Tank Girl and Tales from the fucking Crypt.
