Chris Nolan might secretly be gay or some kind of autist who doesn't understand male-female relationships.
/ourguy/ confirmed.

Maybe Nolan is a legit asexual. His films have a certain lack of sexuality which is rare in AAA films. You generally don't see that kind of storytelling except in environments with heavy censorship.

Not that I'm complaining. I prefer films without sexuality. Personally, I've always found it distracting and obnoxious unless it's handled very expertly. It works in a lot of gangster films because the sexual context is tragic and serves to underline the squalor the characters live in, or highlight their ambition for a better future.

I can just watch porn if I want to see normies fucking each other.

I don't think that Nolan is asexual. I think it's simply that he's been in a comfortable, stable relationship with his wife pretty much since university and doesn't really understand the sometimes turbulent, sometimes intensely passionate relationships that other people have.

Also, a lot of his women look suspiciously like his wife. Kind of plain, mousy brunette types.

If that were the case, I would expect to see sexual content more like that found in A History of Violence. Sex between married adults.

For comparison, another director who has very little sex in his films, and very few female characters, is Chang Cheh. But there is a context for that. Sexual content in chinese film-making wasn't so common back when he was making his films. And Chang Cheh felt that women didn't have a place in the martial world he was fascinated by. His films are all about relationships between male characters. Female characters of any sort are rare, and typically used as plot devices or family members of important (to the story) male characters. IIRC, the only female characters we see in the Five Venoms movie (who aren't extras) are the family members of this one old dude who has some treasure the Venoms want. Chang Cheh movies are full of violence but contain no sexuality.

Nolan films remind me of the movies of Chang Cheh, older tv shows made under mccarthy censorship in the USA and some others. It's not just a lack of sex itself. Shows from the '60s and '70s had sexuality without showing sex. Nolan's films have no sexuality. Even Kurosawa had sexuality in his films. David Fincher is one of my favorite directors and he also tends to put sex on the back burner in his films. But they're not quite so stripped-bare as Nolan's. Se7en has the wife character, who features prominently. Fight Club had sex in it, even though it was a deconstruction of primarily male psyche. Most directors acknowledge humans as sexual animals in some way within their films, if only to affirm bonds between characters for plot advancement.

I just realized the SNL skit is because of this game.

And some Peter Pan!

The film depicts the title characters of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan as siblings trying to help their parents overcome the death of their eldest son.
