It's real. Iirc, it's because they used the Japanese version (Shindou edition), lazy fuckers. That's the reason why the BLJ is gone.
I still find it funny that 64 is stuck at 4:3 and it and Sunshine are stuck at 30fps.
The video from kingk points out that anyone buying the collection to speedrun mario 64 is essentially screwed. They still have to emulate or play on an original n64 because the version on the collection is the shitty remade version where you can't do backward jumps and sheeit.
Mario 64 is one of the most popular speedrun games of all time, so it's pretty hilarious that Jewtendo couldn't even get that right. They could have at least included both rom versions.
Speedrunning mario64 is mega gay, in my opinion, but it's a missed opportunity to sell the version that isn't allowed for registering runs. You can't even practice running since the retarded version they sell removed all the fast glitch movement options IIRC.
Mario Sunshine has no dual-stage trigger options either. So you can't play with original FLUD controls and the gamecube controller isn't compatible. Galaxy has new gay motion controls added (gyro) instead of the old gay motion controls. You can't turn them off either. It's only for certain minigames but it's still lame.
Mario 64 DS extras aren't included in mario 64, so no yoshi or luigi or other fun things.
Mario Galaxy 2 was strangely missing from the collection despite being widely considered the superior game to Galaxy 1. 3d Land and 3d World are both missing because fuck you I guess.
You pay $60 and they give you absolute bare-bones emulation of 3 roms with no options, no widescreen support and no extras.
I actually preferred Galaxy 1 to 2. But that's besides the point.
Mario 64 is better emulated on PC. Dolphin is a fantastic emulator and I've played Sunshine at 60fps with HD textures with a Gamecube controller that actually works.
Galaxy 1&2? Get a Wii for cheap.
3D World will be released for the Switch later. But if you happen to have a WiiU you can play it and the Galaxies on it. No need for the Switch release. Plus, you can pick up Tropical Dong for it instead of paying 60 fucking Euros for the Switch version. A game that cost 40 on release for the WiiU by the way.

So, in other words, exactly what they told you you were going to get.
You can't complain that Nintendo only sold what was advertised. Yeah, the fans are retarded for buying three roms but Nintendo never led anyone to believe it would be anything more than three roms. That fact was obvious when they showed Mario 64 completely unaltered from the original (the Japanese original at that, from the sounds of things)
