No surprise Jesu is scamming people. She's willing to pay Brenda extra to "go away" in the same way that a lot of scam companies will pay you off if you bitch and complain to them long enough: because they know that your complaints, if they are public, will increase visibility on their scam. The more brenda bitches about the scam, the more people might say "hey, that's right! These are just excuses for Jesu not to deliver on what they were paid money for!" And Jesu doesn't want that. If Brenda leaves, it's more than worth the petty cash cost in terms of PR. Jesu can go back to collecting tardbucks with no opposition, and the amount of potential lost revenue retained by removing Brenda more than makes up buying her out.

It's the same reason sleazy corporations will settle court cases and pay out thousands or even millions as part of the settlement. They know they benefit far more than if the case went to trial and testimony was heard of their dishonest and often illegal activities. A settlement implies no fault or, if there is fault, that it was relatively minor and the corporation doesn't admit to anything.

Jesu is essentially offering Brenda a shitty settlement and hoping Brenda takes it so she can keep the scams going. Fight for your right to shit-talk, Brenda! She's taken how much money, and delivered jack shit? It's your right to complain. Depression doesn't make it okay to scam people. If Jesu can't work and can't produce anything, she should be on welfare or living with family. It's not her place to scam money from wheelchairs because she thinks she needs it.
