It's pretty clear that Pat gets an ego boost out of being an NWC cart owner. He loves when people acts like its a massive deal and ask to go to his safety deposit box and see it. I think that in his head it makes him a bigger fan or a better collector because he owns "the holy grail".

Personally though I think it's dumb. The only reason I would want the cart is if I played in the NWC myself. Even then I'd probably sell it to some dummy like Pat and buy a sports car instead.
