Yep. If you're anglo, just get one with a thumb stud. I don't like nail nicks because them shits usually aren't placed right for one-hand opening.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 1:43 pmUnless you're Anglo,Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 6:33 amYou can get decent spring-assisted knives off Amazon for less than ten bucks. There's no excuse not to have one.

That's a beautiful knife. I've been thinking of buying one, they're just wickedly expensive here.BenComicGraphics wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 4:36 amBut I still love my Applegate Fairbairn, which I think is the best folding fighter.

This is the one I got. Best $50 bucks I ever spent.

Be prepared to spend another $50 when it breaks

Re: Movieblob
Indeed. And while I have enough money to buy one on Amazon (which I'm still wondering about) I would get it if it was half the price of 122.veris leta facies wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 4:06 pmThat's a beautiful knife. I don't like spring-assisted knives. There's not much point to the assist and most of them are cheap quality trash.

Most are really bad yeah, but Kershaw's torsion bar assist is pretty reliable. However I really like benchmade's eyehole lock.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 6:33 pmI don't like spring-assisted knives. There's not much point to the assist and most of them are cheap quality trash.

I've been impressed with Kershaw's quality-to-price ratio, overall. You can get the speedsafe knives pretty reliably on sale for around $15 and for that money, I think they're really hard to beat. They have a lot of different styles to suit whatever your needs are. My kershaw clash is probably one of the nicest combat-style folders I've seen. But if you want something lighter, the abundance of styles gives you plenty of options. The Volt has a nice weight-size ratio.BenComicGraphics wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 6:45 pmMost are really bad yeah, but Kershaw's torsion bar assist is pretty reliable. Of course, the cheaper kershaws are all 8cr13mov, but with something that you might end up losing anyway (stolen, confiscated, lost, taken away by TSA etc), I wouldn't want to pay out big cash for an EDC or combat knife.
The only thing I don't like about Kershaw is their insistence on using a flipper instead of a thumb stud.
