Do you really think goofy social justice shit just happens by accident? Of course that was the point.

Didn't Lost World already have that? With the little gymnast of color who goes all Alice from Resident Evil on a raptor?

That was the moment dinosaurs stopped being cool.

Ayy, it looks like Rambo: Last Blood didn't pull the "evil white man was behind it all" card; critics are ripping it apart for being a "MAGA fantasy." Of course, none of the critics are self-aware enough to realize that them equating cartel members with all Mexican people is more racist than anything in the film. Apparently, it's wrong for a film to have the cartel be the antagonists even though the cartel is a very real evil that is currently wreaking havoc in Mexico.

Sounds like the new Rambo is as based as John Rambo. I hope it's going to be the same ultra-violent shlock. I very much enjoyed watching charlies getting torn to shreds by a .50cal machinegun.

Apparently it does, but it takes like half the movie to get there.

Remember those days when people actually cared about critics' opinions?

Yeah, me neither

Film criticism has gotten particularly awful in the internet era. Thanks to RottenTomatoes, bloggers who don't know shit about the history of cinema are now considered critics, and a ton of these hacks care more about political agendas and getting clicks than anything else. Roger Ebert had some awful opinions, but he was entertaining and actually cared about cinema.

As much as I wasn't a fan of Ebert, he at least has decent reasoning on why he didn't like some films even though audiences disagreed. And he did like some great movies which failed at movie theaters as well. Batman Mask of the Phantasm was one of them.

Looks like a two hour slog with a 20 minute action scene at the end.
