I watched a doctor talk about the Adam Ruins Everything episode about hospitals and he took a short detour to talk about why doctors don't just prescribe random stuff whenever you want them to and it's equal parts, "we don't want to create super diseases," and, "we don't want to be sued."

If it isn't going to cause you to go deaf then they'll do the bare minimum until it gets worse.

What a wonderful way to start the weekend. I come home and for some reason my monitor is broken. Not the old as shit secondary one, of course, but the main monitor. It's currently running @60Hz. Or rather it kind of does so. Everything is just laggy now and if I have it at it's native 144Hz there are really nice white lines on most of it's screen. Fucking shit sucks. I really didn't want to have to buy a new one yet.

I've had some wild times recently.

My husband had been heavily abusing cough medicine. Two weeks ago he was high out of his mind to the point where he locked me in my bedroom and started trashing our apartment. He broke the bathroom mirror and was bleeding from a laceration on his stomach so I called 911. The police rolled up and asked me, "Is he intoxicated again?" because this wasn't their first time dealing with him.

He refused to unlatch the security chain so the cops forced the door open. They were gunning for him because of the last few times they'd been here on domestic violence calls, so they charged him with false imprisonment for locking me in my room and criminal mischief for breaking the mirror. While he was at the hospital he spat in a cop's face and was charged with aggravated assault as a result.

He clogged the toilet before he was arrested so I had to vacate the apartment I lived in for the past 6 years and stay with my parents while I looked for a new place. Nyquil: not even once.

I sent this postcard to the cop he spat on. I hope he likes it.

This monitor is on sale if you can actually see it from where you're at. Seems pretty decent for the price.
