Movie Thread
Re: Movie Thread
Hey, Hereditary was really good. I'll take a well-done horror ghost movie over anything Rob Zombie has done. If you've seen one Rob Zombie film, you've seen them all.

Re: Movie Thread
I'll admit the first half of it was tense, but then in the climax they completely drop the theme of a disintegrating family for a random-ass cult backstory and goofy special effects. By the time the movie ended, the tension had completely dissipated.
Re: Movie Thread
I think the theme of a disintegrating family is still there it just goes from being told through human drama to being told through spooky ghost stuff. The haunting and the literal destruction of the family can be seen as an allegory for how such a devastating loss can lead to guilt and obsession that permanently destroys familial bonds. Or it can be seen as ghost movie cliches. I go with the former, but I can see why you gravitate towards the latter. I'm a bit biased when it comes to horror films; I'll happily stomach cliches as long as I feel they're executed well.

That mongoloid girl (???) getting decapitated is legit one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen in any movie.

It's a Hollywood movie (I think), so she was probably a "special" girl.

Me and my dad watched Live And Let Die today, top tier Bond film. Fucking love that it's ballsy enough to bring a supernatural element to James Bond. Great set of villains too, and a song that isn't soppy(Paul McCartney for the win).
Re: Movie Thread
Other than the song and Jane Seymour that movie was gay as hell. Dammit Rushy, I keep believing your taste is improving but you never fail to disappoint me. What's next, Die Another Day wasn't THAT bad?

It was tacky, but watchable. Brosnan > Craig any day, any movie.Guest wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 9:33 pmOther than the song and Jane Seymour that movie was gay as hell. Re: Movie Thread
Depends on the movie for me. Craig was good in Casino Royale and Skyfall. I dunno how anyone who's not trolling can think Quantum and Spectre were anything but hot steaming shit. Brosnan was good in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies. He was okay in Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough, but in DAD everything else was shit, like Diamonds are Forever without the charm, while TWINE is actually breddy good.Rushy wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 9:39 pmIt was tacky, but watchable. Dalton > Brosnan or Craig though. It's a shame he didn't get more movies and a chance to really shine.
