I really want to play langrisser because it seems like the superior of the two game series, but it's all untranslated.

I kinda liked "the last remnant" where u had heroes in squads. Shoulbve had more heroes annd death consequences, tho
Bahamut Lagoon on the snes had something similar. was good game and u could feed ur dragons with porn mags to stat, evolve and stuff

That game is awesome just for the fact that you can alter your environment with elemental magic, say by burning down a forest or melting frost. You can even destroy bridges and stuff to give your army a tactical advantage.
Ever heard of Earth Light?
I’m getting too old for this shitposting.

Some hex-based, sci-fi strategy/tactical thing? Looks interesting.
Also has some really retarded ideas, like how your squad buddies need ingredients to upgrade their gear - but you cannot, under any circumstances, give that shit to them. You have to find that shit in the field, or in the form of monster drops. Even if your inventory has 99 copies of that stuff.
I found the game infinitely more interesting than say FF12, but it's kinda annoying how much the game obscures from you.

I picked up last remnant recently. Haven't had a chance to do much with it. I've been enjoying arc the lad 2 and trying out growlanser waifu of time.

Dont listen to any Last Remnant hate, its great game to just get lost in.
Just a note though, if you care about getting the "best" ending and hardest boss you need to use a guide. Or not miss any quests by yourself but there are some points where older quests get locked off.

Arc the Lad 1 and 2 were so bizarre. Specially because I played 2 before 1, so the game hyping Arc's gang as these badass outlaws was genuinely fun, because I had no idea who they were. Later on I got the Collection edition and restarted it by playing 1 before, and while it made me appreciate their character development, it took away that initial hype.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 1:22 pmI picked up last remnant recently. It was all worth in the end because of Choco's sidequest. Man, that game had a surprisingly dark setting. Too bad the series quickly turned garbage from 3 and beyond.

Yeah, I didn't play Arc 1 because I heard it was super short and basically a prologue. I've been watching a let's play of it to see if I missed anything. So far, doesn't really seem like it.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 9:31 pmArc the Lad 1 and 2 were so bizarre. Arc 3 looks like shit. They went from amazing sprite art to mediocre ps1 art and I hear the story is all sidequests.
But Arc 2, god damn is it ever amazing. I can't believe people don't spam this game alongside suikoden 2, fft, chrono trigger and FF6 in muh youtube top ten lists.
A lot of parts of the story reminded me of Akira of all things, with all the human experimentation.

You're right about Arc 1 being a prologue (characters level just up to 60, the ending is a cliffhanger, etc.), but it fills the gap showing how the Arc gang (which is a classical ragtag of misfits) came to be, which is nice. You also get to play with Chongara and Kukuru, and if you import the Arc 1 save into 2, not only you get Arc's party with the same stats they had in th previous game, you also get Choco's special quest line which is pretty good (and she's also a damn powerful character to use).
The setting of the game is awesome, and you're absolutely right the first two games should be considered true "hidden gems", unlike 90% of whatever these retro cucks consider hidden gems. Fuck, Arc Arena allows two players to load their Arc 2 saves and fight each other! How many RPGs allow you to do that?

It's always unfortunate when you're a PS1 franchise that goes from sprites to 3D. You just know it'll look like arse and age horribly.
Does Hybrid Heaven for the N64 count? There's a versus mode where you can not only select the guy from your save file, but also basically any enemy you've encountered so far.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 5:05 amFuck, Arc Arena allows two players to load their Arc 2 saves and fight each other!
