What pisses me off so much about IPA is that it's this dumb counter reaction to watery piss in a very wrong direction. You can't just throw tons and tons of hops into beer to make it taste like something.
North German Pilsener is it's own type of beer, being very light gold and very heavy on hops. You want it to be refreshingly tart and dry without getting bitter or sour. That's a delicate balance that requires careful selection of hops and is an art. Alone come those hipster faggots, dare to call their piss "craft" without knowing the first thing about the craft of making beer, throw hops into the mash like it's going out of style and make undrinkable swill and convince themselves that their lemon sour, bitter swill is actual beer just because, unlike Pabst Blue Ribbon, it tastes like something.
It's like you're trying to ape a Bordeaux cuveé wine and instead of carefully mixing Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for the mash you just pick several discounter wines and dump them together in a bowl and then claim you've made something artistic.
It honestly makes me mad.

I can understand using certain methods to craft alcohol out of necessity. But once the need has passed, if it tastes like shit, stop doing it.

I don't know does Fuller's 1845 qualify as a real ale to beer elitists, but for me it's a well-rounded British ale with nice bitter grainy wood flavour. But now it's not Fuller's time for me, now I'm enjoying a pint of HEINEKEN FUCK THAT SHIT

There's a reason why we still make whiskey and rum but not the grog piss that they used on ships to keep the crew from getting scurvy. It was basically shitbeer mixed with lime/lemon mixed with rum mixed with water.
And no a navy rum is not the same as the swill the crew got.

I just found out I had forgot a bunch of Bear Beers on my balcony from the weekend. The nights have been very cold, below -15°C, but they weren't even frozen! These little teddies must've grown some winter coat! Now enjoying some icy cold Danish delicacy!
